Although there is very little scientific evidence to support the use of bladder wrack as a homeopathic remedy, many people continue to use the algae to treat a variety of diseases. For example, some believe that the kelp can stop the fatty degeneration of the coronary arteries and heart.

Containing alginate (alginic acid), the kelp may act as a laxative to help the stool pass more easily through the digestive tract.

3) To help combat nephritis
Some people use the kelp to treat their nephritis (inflammation of the kidney, caused either by infection or by autoimmune diseases) because the algae would decrease renal irritation and congestion.

4) Assist in the fight against cancer cells
Seaweed wrack vesiculus eliminate the growth of certain cancer cells, making it a potentially powerful aid (lack of rigorous studies to certify such benefits) for patients with cancer. Lack of studies to confirm this hypothesis.

5) Fight against various medical conditions
According to some people, the kelp may help to relieve heartburn, heal wounds, reduce cholesterol, relieve DIARRHEA, even if there is no sound scientific data to support these assertions (studies were not conducted on humans).

6) Assist in the fight against iodine deficiency disorders and some thyroid
The wrack is used to treat the lack of iodine and various thyroid disorders including myxedema (caused by skin infiltration of peripheral origin hypothyroidism) and goiter (enlarged, mostly visible, thyroid gland).

7) Fighting the pain and various health problems
Some people take the wrack to fight against arthritis, joint pain, hardening of the arteries (arteriosclerosis). Seaweed wrack vesiculus also treats digestive disorders, constipation, bronchitis, emphysema (presence of gas in human tissues), disorders of the urinary tract, anxiety. The bladder wrack could also help clean the blood.

8) Attend various treatments
Some people apply the wrack on the skin to treat certain skin diseases, burns the skin, aging skin, insect bites. Others use the algae to boost the immune system and increase energy.

Caution: it should be noted that rigorous scientific studies are needed to validate the effectiveness of most of the supposed health benefits of kelp and listed above.
