<p>The jalapenos have an active component called (Capsicum). That&#8217;s fair, also known as dihydropacslate or DCT. David Heber at the Center for Human Nutrition at UCLA and his colleagues studied 29 men and women who are willing to consume low-calorie liquid diet for 28 days. Then the researchers asked subjects taking a placebo pill one or <a href="http://www.novo5.com/tag/weight-loss-supplements"><strong>supplements</strong></a> that contain synthetic versions of the DCT.</p>
<p><span id="more-582"></span></p>
<p>In a presentation at Experimental Biology 2010 meeting in Anaheim, California, Heber, reported that at least several hours after eating some food, those who<a href="http://www.novo5.com/tag/healthy-weight-loss"> <strong>consume more calories</strong></a> are burned from the DCT. Even those who consume more DCT burned nearly two times more calories than those taking placebo.</p>
<p>DCT also improve a process called<strong> </strong><a href="http://www.novo5.com/tag/healthy-weight-loss"><strong>fat oxidation</strong></a>, which means that the body uses fat as fuel, the researchers reported. The results showed that the DCT can help people lose weight when they eat low-calorie diet, increase your metabolism.</p>
<p>The researchers cautioned that only test the effect of DCT in response to a single meal, and fat people can not respond the same. So this study should be followed up with additional research.<br />

You don’t have to eat a salad for every meal, but incorporating some greens into your diet will not only help you lose weight, it can significantly improve your feeling of overall health by regulating digestion and delivering a much-needed dose of nutrients.  Not into lettuce?  Most college cafeterias offer vegetarian options like garden burgers so you can get a fix of veggies and skip that greasy pizza.</p>
<p><strong>2. Quit snacking. </strong><br />
It’s all too easy to grab something quick from a vending machine between classes, but all those Cheetos add up!  Keep some fruit or trail mix on hand to curb your cravings instead.</p>
